SRDC Management

The success to date of Schuylkill Banks is the result of dedicated leadership and long term strategic planning.

Photo of Joseph SyrnickPresident and Chief Executive Officer, Joseph Syrnick, is charged with development and implementation of the mission and vision of the Corporation in coordination with the Board of Directors and key stakeholders. He is the primary interface with external constituents in promoting participation and involvement of various interest groups. Joe comes to SRDC from the City of Philadelphia, where he was Chief Engineer & Surveyor, with responsibilities for highway and bridge design, bridge construction, transportation planning and surveying. He is a Professional Engineer and Professional Land Surveyor.

Photo of Lane FikeDirector of Capital Programs, Lane Fike, is responsible for managing the corporation capital and facilities program including monitoring contracts and reviewing work of consulting engineering firms designing both extensions to the park and upgrades to the existing facilities. Lane, a Professional Engineer, joined SRDC after leaving the Bridge Section of the City of Philadelphia, where he assisted in the design & construction of numerous bridges throughout the City.

Erin Bolz photoDirector of Administration, Erin Bolz, coordinates all the administrative needs of the company. This includes logistically supporting the President as well as overseeing daily operations of the office, assisting the IT consultant and working with SRDC’s part time Controller. Erin is also involved with the planning and scheduling of programming and events and is a coordinator of the Schuylkill Banks Center.

Photo of Danielle GrayCommunications Manager, Danielle Gray, coordinates communication and community outreach for the company. Her responsibilities include managing the website and newsletter, designing and distributing SRDC materials, marketing and public relations initiatives, grant writing and fundraising, managing the online store and assisting with planning and running special events on the Banks.

Operations Manager, Josh Nims, oversees the Schuylkill Banks maintenance program, the Schuylkill Banks Center, and the Schuylkill Banks Annual Giving program. He manages a staff of three maintenance workers who keep the Banks free of trash and graffiti. His responsibilities also include the recruitment and management of the Schuylkill Banks volunteer staff who help to operate the Schuylkill Banks Center and assist with many other aspects of Schuylkill Banks operations.

Maintenance Team

Part-time maintenance contractors Henry Hitchcock, Kenneth Bond and Eric Pauly handle much of the daily maintenance of the park and trail. Their diverse list of tasks include landscape maintenance, litter pickup, graffiti removal, snow and ice removal, sorting recycling, cleaning the composting restroom, and any number of other tasks as required.

Volunteer Staff

Since 2006, SRDC’s volunteer team has been supporting nearly all programming events on Schuylkill Banks. Volunteers are the engine that makes SRDC’s movie nights, kayak tours, riverboat tours, and other programs successful and relatively stress-free for the rest of the SRDC team. Office Consultants

Controller, Helen Fox, is a CPA and consultant with Your Part-Time Controller. She has worked for SRDC since 2000 to chart accounts, maintain records and provide financial statements. Helen also assists in the preparation of the annual budget and audits.

IT Advisor, Julian Hogan, of Skyview Computer Services, is on-hand on an ongoing basis to provide technical support.
