Philly Spring Cleanup 2012
The City of Philadelphia's Spring Cleanup will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2012 (rain date 4/28/12). This annual event connects thousands of volunteers around Philadelphia with local nonprofits and city agencies for one day of picking up trash, painting, planting, and beautifying our great city!
Schuylkill Banks will be expanding its reach during the 2012 Philly Spring Cleanup. In addition to our annual cleanup site on the trail segment from Locust to Walnut Street, we will also lead a cleanup team on the new Grays Ferry Crescent trail segment! Volunteers at both sites will split into teams tackling trash pickup, painting and basic landscaping. Those interested in working on the MLK to Locust Trail segment should meet at the Schuylkill Banks Center under the Walnut Street Bridge. Grays Ferry Crescent volunteers can report to the Wharton Street Esplanade along the Schuylkill River by Wharton and Schuylkill Avenue.
You can register for the cleanup through the Streets Department's Spring Cleanup website starting on March 6. We hope to see you out there!
