| Docks, Landings, and Ramps, Oh My! |
For the first time in more than a century, travel on the river by boat will now be possible on the lower Schuylkill River.
A series of landings, docks and ramps are underway to promote public access to the water. SRDC and its partners have constructed the Schuylkill Landings, two public docks with major funding from the William Penn Foundation.
The docks, located at Bartram’s Garden and Walnut Street Bridge, are designed for tourism and pleasure boating. Passive put-ins and ramps are also being designed at various locations for non-motorized boats such as canoes, sculls and kayaks. |
