Schuylkill Banks Greenway and Trail System

Capitalizing on the eight miles of riverfront, SRDC’s vision is a contiguous greenway and trail (Schuylkill River Park and Trail; Schuylkill Trails) along the east and west banks of the lower Schuylkill River between the Fairmount Water Works and historic Fort Mifflin on the Delaware. The greenway will promote recreational and provide connections to hundreds of miles of state, federal and local trail systems throughout the region.

For purposes of implementation, the Schuylkill Banks Greenway and trail system is organized into three Sections and multiple Segments. In addition, there are various Phases of construction. Section One is the area between the Fairmount Water Works (Italian Fountain entrance) and South Street Bridge. Section Two is between the South Street Bridge and Bartram’s Garden. Section Three is the area between Bartram’s Garden and Ft. Mifflin.
