PlanPhilly reports on the Streets Department's testing of the lights on the new South Street Bridge, featuring fantastic photos by SRDC's Lane Fike. Streets is testing out a variety of colors and patterns for the new lights installed in the bridge towers. PA DEP announced the recipients of the 2011 Coastal Zone Management Grants today, including two awards to Schuylkill River Development Corporation for planning projects along Schuylkill Banks. DEP and NOAA will award SRDC $60,000 for the design of a trail segment to extend the Schuylkill River Trail from South Street to Catharine Street and $45,000 for the design of the west bank landing and approaches for the Schuylkill Crossing at Grays Ferry Crescent.
