The Schuylkill River Development Corporation (SRDC) seeks bids to reconstruct an existing abandoned industrial pier to create a community fishing dock along the Bartram’s Mile trail near 49th Street and Botanic Avenue.
Specific work tasks and details are shown in the Bid Documents which are linked in the Download section below. The project involves piles with rock sockets, structural work, steel decking, railings, an asphalt path, minor landscaping and other incidental work.
SRDC is eager to have this work completed in a timely manner and intends to make a decision and enter into a contract quickly. It is our expectation that prospective bidders are able and committed to begin quickly, with the desire being to have this work completed in a timely manner. The Bid Submission due date is September 28, 2021 by 4:00pm. SRDC reserves the right to reject any or all bids. Bidding details are contained in the Bid Document which is part of the contract documents.
Pre-Bid Site Visit
A non-mandatory pre-bid conference will be held on September 7, 2021. This conference will be conducted as a conference call or video conference. Contractors wishing to participate in this conference should contact Peter Brennan (Urban Engineers, [email protected]) or Joseph Syrnick ([email protected]; 215-309-5523 x102) to receive instructions on how to join the discussion. Additionally, contractors are advised and strongly encouraged to visit the project site before quoting to view and assess the project scope, site conditions, and limitations. While the site is easily accessible to the public, SRDC would be pleased to escort contractors on this site visit. To schedule such a field visit, contact Joseph Syrnick at the number above.

Contractors who have an interest in this bid and who download contract documents should provide SRDC a contact name and email address as soon as possible. This information will be used to send out important bid information including Addenda and/or answers and clarifications to questions that arise during the bid period. Without your contact information we have no way of knowing of your interest in the project and getting information to you.

Material questions, such as project clarifications which could affect the bidding, should be emailed to Joseph Syrnick ([email protected]) and Peter Brennan ([email protected]) as soon as possible but in no event later than 4pm on September 24, 2021. Answers to these questions will be emailed to all parties who have advised SRDC that they have an interest in this bid and have provided a contact name and email address. They will also be posted on the SRDC website (www.schuylkillbanks.org).
Contractors are advised that this contract is partially funded with Commonwealth of Pennsylvania grants. Consequently, certain state requirements need to be met including, but not limited to, the use of Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Rates and adherence to the PA Steel Procurement Act.
