19th Annual Philly Fun Fishing Fest Results!

The 19th Annual Philly Fun Fishing Fest was held on Schuylkill Banks on Saturday, September 9 and was a ton of fun thanks to the Philadelphia Water Department, Philadelphia Parks & Recreation, PA Fish and Boat Commission, and the 160 anglers who participated in the event.  Experienced anglers and first-timers alike gathered along the sunny riverbank to compete for largest fish, smallest fish, and most fish caught. Participants won prizes, including deluxe tackle boxes from Flambeau Outdoors, rods from Sportmaster Bait and Tackle, and gift certificates to Dick’s Sporting Goods.

135 fish from 9 different species were caught and released. Fish species caught during the event included Alewife, American Shad, Blue Gill, Channel Catfish, Striped Bass, Sunfish, White Bass, White Perch, and Yellow Perch.
