Woodlands Cemetery Trail

A connection through The Woodlands would link Spruce Hill and West Philadelphia to the river and larger trail network. This link could provide an important commuting option for residents living and working along this portion of the riverfront.

The Woodlands has expressed interest in pursuing this link to the river and in bringing more of the neighborhood into the cemetery.  A system of trails through the site and along the river side of the property connecting to Woodland Avenue could benefit The Woodlands and Schuylkill Banks. Coordination with the VA Hospital and other landowners would be required. The trail system through the cemetery should be a relatively simple engineering project. Historic mitigation would be included as required.
