Bartram's Mile was the first segment of of Schuylkill Banks to be built in Southwest Philadelphia. It runs from just south of Grays Ferry Avenue through Historic Bartram's Garden to 56th Street. It will eventually connect to the Grays Ferry Crescent via the Schuylkill Crossing at Grays Ferry. Destinations and Points of Interest along the Mile include Bartram's Garden, the Newkirk Viaduct, and the 56th Street Plaza.

Access points for Bartram's Mile include S. 49th Street and Botanic Avenue (northern portion), Bartram's Garden (mid-way point), and S. 56th Street and Bartram Drive (southern point). 

There are a limited number of vehicle parking spots at the trail entrances at 49th Street and Botanic Avenue and at 56th Street and Bartram Drive. There are bicycle racks at the 56th Street trail entrance.
